and fashionable decorating firm, renowned for its wallpapers
ORIGINATING IN THE ARTS AND CRAFTS movement popular in late
Victorian "artistic homes of taste", the company's
designs have never been more widely appreciated tha they are
TODAY, the Morris & Co. trademark guarantees authentic

Morris & Co. is a registered trademark of Arthur Sanderson
& Sons Ltd., who own the entire collection of exclusive
designs hand printed using the original printing blocks, which
Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd. acquired from Morris &
Company Ltd., along with all rights thereto.
- In 1861 Morris, Marshall, Faulconer & Company was
established. At this time Jeffrey & Co. printed the
Morris wallpapers. In the 1870's the original company of
Morris, Marshall, Faulconer & Co. was renamed Morris
& Company Ltd.
- In 1879 Sanderson began printing wallpapers in their own
factory at Chiswick.
- In 1927 Sanderson bought Jeffrey & Co. and continued
to print all the Morris & Co. designs.
- In 1928 all the Morris & Co. blocks were transferred
to the Sanderson wallpaper mill at Chiswick, and subsequently
that year to the new Sanderson wallpaper factories at Perivale.
- In 1940 Morris & Co. went into Receivership, and were
purchased by Sanderson on May 24th of that year.
- On june 6th 1940 Sanderson received confirmation of ownership
together with all copyrights.
